The Story Behind The Stories

As a lawyer and professor, Shannon spends her days immersed in language and the meanings we make from it.As a mother, she has seen how children sense the emotional “quiet” in a home long before they have the words to name it.Shannon has been writing since she was a little girl; stories scribbled in notebooks, words as a way of making sense of things.That never changed.She wrote The House That Hummed for the child she once was - the one who felt everything deeply and needed a story to tell her that was okay.It is her debut picture book.
